Our History
Your Wealth Center’s heritage is grounded in Midwest values and work ethic but guided by global insight. President of Wealth Management, J. Standish Fortin, grew up trying to understand what he was reading in his father’s Wall Street Journal. To further his education, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati’s Lindner College of Business and majored in both Finance and Investments with minors in Real Estate and Philosophy. Prior to graduating, he was recruited by several real estate and investment firms.
Upon graduating, he accepted a position with Wall Street wire house PaineWebber. While there, he was classically trained and expanded upon his theoretical knowledge base of the investment world. After his Wall Street training and development, he accepted a position at the downtown branch of Quick & Reilly. As a result of the branch’s success implementing modern portfolio management for the firm’s clients Quick & Reilly became an acquisition target and was ultimately acquired by Bank of America. When the interests of the clients was not being served by some institutional platforms, Standish establish a local firm with access to Wall Street but operating under (as his father says) Main Street common sense.
